When you are job hunting, it may seem challenging to support yourself, pay the bills and make ends meet. This doesn’t have to be a challenge if you know a few of the tricks to make things work.

One way that you can pay the bills while you are trying to find a job is to take a temporary part-time job. This allows you time to search for a new job during the day while you can get enough funding to help keep you afloat. Some of these jobs need you to work evenings and weekends, but remember that it is only for a short time. Many of these are in retail, where employers are more likely to be flexible with scheduling.

You can also sign up for an internship in the field you are interested in. Many of these programs actually pay interns while they are on the job with a small stipend. If you have an unpaid internship, you can always take out a small loan for the period during your job search from a company such as Plain Green Loans. A loan can help you to pay such expenses as rent, car insurance and utilities.

Apprenticeships are another way to get into a particular field. These are found in vocational fields such as masonry, carpentry and plumbing. You will earn a pay rate based on your experience and educational level. This can help you to earn a living as you search for the position you like within that field.
